Executive Leadership Coaching – Making The Most Of It

Posted by stressjudo on June 24, 2010

If you are going to go for executive leadership coaching, you need to make sure it sticks.  See, many companies that say they offer “coaching” offer only a 1 day or 2 day seminar 0n goal setting and teamwork.  Or they come in and kibbitz your project and then give you crappy little saying about leadership.

What you want is coaching that will develop your leadership.   Or coaching that you can pass on to your team, to develop leaders.   But without having to pay a consultant hundreds of dollars an hour to do it.

Try STRESS JUDO Black Belt stress management training.  A black belt in a martial art is someone who can identify the areas that he or she needs to work on, and is trained to train himself or herself.  In other words, the coaching of a black belt develops someone who is self-coaching as well as coach to others.

This is the model that STRESS JUDO is based on.   Mastering stress and staying calm and focused under pressure is probably the first trait that people think of when they identify a leader.   Now, that person can be YOU!

Look at STRESS JUDO as the beginning of your executive leadership coaching.  Everyone around you will thank you.

Corporate Charity Rip-offs

Posted by stressjudo on June 8, 2010

I just saw a commercial for a fast-food chain (I won’t mention the name so I don’t get sued) that was pitching some kind of charitable donation if you buy their crappy food.  The charity was actually pretty cool and sounded worthy.  But, at the bottom of the screen – in teeny-tiny print – was the MASSIVE RIPOFF.

At the bottom of the screen, it said that each restaraunt would donate “up to $250.”  WTF??!! So that means that if YOU go there and buy their crap – with the intention of having a portion of your purchase be donated to this charity – and you are purchaser $251 – YOIU LOSE!

Check out the next time you see a carton in the grocery store that says a donation will go to a charity, usually a cancer charity.   The fine print will say “GIANT RIPOFF CORP. will donate up to $100,000 to xyz charity.”  That means that they PROFIT off everyone who purchases OVER the $100,000 limit.  Man, this burns me up!

So here’s the solution: the next time you see this – and you are motivated to make a purchase because of the charity – just give STRAIGHT to the charity!  Bypass the giant scamming corporation that is whoring out the victims for corporate greed and playing off YOUR charitable feelings.  The charity will benefit better.

Oh, and while you at it: send a letter to giant ripoff corporation that says “make your donation AT LEAST $100,000, instead of UP TO, you greedy scum-sucking whores.”

You’ll feel really good.

And click here for stress relief.  All of your purchase goes to me, but I donate to charities as I see fit.  So should you.

Workplace Stress Can Be FUN!

Posted by stressjudo on June 8, 2010

What would work be without stress?  Why, it would be … FUN.  So, why not make the stress of the workplace fun and sort of turn it into an existential negation of itself?  Or, in other words – make your boss’s head explode the next time he or she dumps a 3 hour project with a 1 hour deadline on your desk.

So try these few tips to put the “j-o-y” in “stress” – er, um – eh:

1.  Build in 15 minutes of slack each hour.  This way, if you get done that hour’s work without interruption, you have 15 minutes to either begin the next thing or to lean back and prepare for the next gut punch life has for ya.

2. Give yourself a reward for each little goal you accomplish. And by little, I mean excruciatingly little.  Like reward yourself for answering the phone and not using the cord to strangle yourself.  Or a coworker.

3. Suggest “desk yoga” to a co-worker who is really stressing out.  This will amuse you to no end.  Watching someone deep breathe and do twists in their chair is hilarious.  It’s like YouTube live on stage.

4. Put a vacation magazine in your desk drawer.  And cut out a picture of your boss or annoying co-worker.  And everytime they do something that bugs you, put his or her picture on a cruise ship.  And see them sailing off… dar dar away…

5. Do karaoke at your desk. On second thought – no, don’t do that.

The reality is that there really is not anyway to put the fun in stress.  But you can eliminate the stress, and replace it with fun.  How? Check out workplace stress management.

Stress Management – The STRESS JUDO Way

Posted by stressjudo on June 4, 2010

STRESS JUDO is a unique and exclusive method of managing – no, attacking stress.  Rather than focus on how you feel or helping you relax, STRESS JUDO lifts to a higher plane where you don’t have to worry about these things.  STRESS JUDO uses the principles of judo to attack the stress in your life and destroy it.    Judo uses the strength of your attacker to defeat the attack.  Judo uses locks and holds t0 neutralize the attacker.  STRESS JUDO applies these principles to stress, and pretty soon, you are mastering stress and turning it back on itself.

There are 6 belts in the STRESS JUDO stress management system.

YELLOW Belt teaches you the skills of creative problem solving and time management.  This way, you can solve the problem causing the stress, and then createthe time to defeat it.

ORANGE Belt teaches you creative thinking and self inspection.  You have moved to a higher level of dealing with stress: anticipating it.

GREEN Belt focuses on goal setting and inner strengthening.  By setting goals, having the inner fortitude to stick with your plan, and the previous skills, you are now determining what stress you allow in your life.  You can also cause stress, because stress is often how you advance in life.

BLUE Belt is the level at which you learn to create your personal stress management plan, and how to be your own coach.  Now you are incorprating stress into your life like any other event.  Your stress reactions have moved from the dangerous “fight or flight” to anticipation and excitement.   The bad health effects of stress should be lessening.

BROWN Belt is mastery of body and spirit.  Stress weakens your body and reduces your ability to fight stress.  You know can stand up to stress, both externally and internally.

BLACK Belt is mastery of stress.  At this level, you learn how to create internal energy instantly, to erase the fatiguew that ling term stress can cause.  You also learn how to create your own daily stress management regimen, which is personal to you.

Too many stress management systems are built around only 1 of these aspects.  STRESS JUDO applies all of these equally, to give a complete system.   It will change how you approach stress.  It will change how you approach problems, relationships, and trouble in your life.  And it will change how people approach you!
